Relaxed program: Himstregimser og andre duppeditter (Odds and Ends and Other Thingamajigs)

Some things are easy to name, while others are harder to put into words. And what do you actually call those things that don’t have a name? Those little odd objects?

In Himstregimser og andre duppeditter (Odds and Ends and Other Thingamajigs), children are invited into a world of shapes, textures, sound, and movement. The space is filled with imaginative and curious textile objects, each with countless functions, engaging a variety of senses. There are trees made of hats and giant bead necklaces, and we meet two strange, dancing creatures who live there. In this performance, nothing needs to be understood or interpreted, and there are no stories to follow. The boundaries between adults, children, dancers, and audience blur, and it’s perfectly okay to touch and explore the soft textile objects.

Himstregimser og andre duppeditter is as much a journey of discovery into another universe as it is a dance performance. At the end, the audience is invited to freely explore the space, so they can touch and experience the objects they have seen the dancers use.

This is a “no-shushing” performance where the dancers meet the audience at their level and invite them into their imaginative world. The audience sits in the middle of the space while the dancers move around them. The performance is open to everyone, but adapted for those who need a more “relaxed” format. The lights are never completely turned off, and it’s perfectly fine to enter and leave the space if you need a break.
