KLODEN TEATER
For everyone aged 13 and up who needs a slightly more “relaxed” atmosphere in the theatre space, or who requires different kinds of accommodation.
Makker is an interactive dance performance created for young people with different disabilities.
It is specially designed for ages 13–18. The performance invites different forms of closeness, contact, and togetherness, with an overall aim of creating connection with each individual audience member through a live, shared interaction. Together, we can become something more and something different, both for ourselves and for each other.
In Makker, each audience member is given their own U-shaped audience spot – a little nook, a place of their own – to sit in. This structure provides a clear and safe frame for the experience, but it does require that the audience member is able to sit independently and comfortably in it.
The audience is invited to take part in different parts of the performance: the dancers dance, the audience is gently rocked, and together we build a labyrinth. Each experience is unique, and the performance is designed to facilitate bodily experiences and exploration in a safe environment. We create a space where we can be differently bodied individuals who discover and explore the “terrain” in our own way. Through the use of humour and rhythm, different moods and degrees of closeness emerge as the space gradually changes. The performance also opens for dialogue with the performers. The companion’s role is important to help the audience get as much as possible out of the performance; companions receive necessary information along the way, and it is possible to talk to the performers during the performance.
Note:
Each audience member is assigned their own U-shape as their seat. This is not flexible, and attending the performance requires being able to sit safely, independently, and comfortably in it. Because of the production’s visual elements, it is not suitable for audience members with a complete loss of vision.
Music and light: Music will be played during parts of the performance, but there is no stage lighting. The performance is sensory-friendly.
