For youth and adults from 14 years.
Cargo makes the pulse of freight transport visible, where our modern infrastructure keeps everyday life running while placing ever-increasing pressure on people, the environment, and resources. [The Transport performances complement each other in a way that means they really should be experienced as two parts of a whole, therefore GoFigure offers a “Transport duo ticket” at a reduced price.]
At the center is a truck driver traveling through the night, caught between deadlines, long drives, and difficult decisions. The performance follows him through his working day with stops, delays, and small obstacles that gradually squeeze out any chance of breathing space. An encounter in the dark and a sudden rupture at dawn turns a routine ride into a collision where ethics, responsibility, and personal guilt force their way into the drivers seat. Through the driver’s perspective, the outlines of a global system emerge, where millions of vehicles keep our goods flowing while emissions, resource use, and human costs accumulate as stowaways.
Transport project is an international hyperrealistic mini-figure theatre project in which six European institutional theatres collaborate to create the same number of performances. The project explores transport as a phenomenon – both as a driving force for globalization and as a source of environmental problems. Through visual and puppet-theatre-based expressions, the performances address themes such as climate, war, resource use, and identity.
