The entire Animalia Trilogy by Wakka Wakka is now being presented, and this is performance number 2.
In 2021, Wakka Wakka came up with yet another critically acclaimed, spectacular, and hilariously funny performance! The Immortal Jellyfish Girl, an ecological science fiction play. Wakka Wakka explores the role of humanity and its wild “journey of denial” into a somewhat theoretical – yet increasingly probable – future.
Far into the future, large parts of the Earth’s surface are considered dead zones. Nothing can survive there. Even outside the zones, it is impossible for any life to survive without assistance. Species are going extinct. The total extermination has begun. However, there is hope. In an underground laboratory, deep within a dead zone, an old scientist is working on a secret plan to restore the Earth’s ecosystems. His daughter “Jellyfish Girl” is the key. But she doesn’t know it herself.
Wakka Wakka, composed of Kirjan Waage and Gwendolyn Warnock, is an award-winning theater company known for their visually stunning, humorous, and playful performances. They have their own unique style, and once you’ve seen one of their shows, you’ll want to see them all!
